Mayıs Film
Mayıs Film was established in 2018 by Bekir Bülbül and Büşra Bülbül. In the same year, their inaugural feature film, MY SHORT WORDS, was produced by Mayıs Film and showcased at film festivals across thirty countries, winning numerous awards, including Best Film.
In 2022, with the support of the Ministry of Culture and the TRT 12 Punto Co-Production Award, Mayıs Film produced CLOVES AND CARNATIONS, directed by Bekir Bülbül. The film had its premiere at the Tokyo Film Festival and was met with acclaim at various esteemed international festivals.
In 2023, ABOUT THE MOTHER, a film awarded the TRT 12 Punto Co-Production Award, entered post-production under the direction of Büşra Bülbül.
In 2024, Bekir Bülbül will produce RECITAL OF BAYRAM, a film awarded by the Ministry of Culture and TRT 12 Punto, which is currently in development.
Since its inception, Mayıs Film has consistently gained recognition in both national and international markets for its high-quality productions.
Bekir Bülbül
He was born in Konya, Turkiye. He graduated from Computer departmant in Sakarya University and did his masters in theater department in Istanbul Haliç Univesity. His first documentary film “Bulgur Mill” in 2016 and selected by many national and international festivals. His debut film is "My Short Words"; it's world premiere in 37th Istanbul Film Festival and was invited to film festivals in more than thirty countries and won many Grand Prizes His latest film "Cloves&Carnations" had its world premiere at the 35th Tokyo Film Festival.
Büşra Bülbül
She was born in Izmir. After completing her primary and secondary education in Istanbul, she continued her education at Istanbul University. In 2018, she established the production company ‘Mayıs Film’ where she developed feature film projects. He was the screenwriter and producer of the films ‘My Short Words’ and ‘Cloves&Carnations’. In 2020, his short film ‘Bleach’ competed in many festivals and won awards. Currently, his first feature film ‘About a Mother’, which is a TRT co-production, is in post-production.
